Faculty Highlight: Dr. Julia Fleckman, MAC's New Research Faculty Member

We at MAC are thrilled that Dr. Julia Fleckman has joined the team as a Research Faculty member. Dr. Fleckman, is Research Assistant Professor at Tulane’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, in the department of Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences. She will be overseeing all research and evaluation projects related to early childhood development at the Women’s Center. As a behavioral scientist and mixed methods researcher, the primary focus of Dr. Fleckman's work is the promotion of healthy families and communities through the prevention of violence and the advancement of access to quality childcare. Dr. Fleckman’s experience has been focused in the field of violence prevention for the past 10 years through research including the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of community-based programming. Her current emphasis is on the prevention of childhood exposure to violence and trauma-informed care in early childcare and school settings and is also a Tulane Violence Prevention Institute (VPI)  faculty member
