Staff Changes at MAC

Exciting changes have been happening at MAC! Our center has gained a new associate director and communications specialist.

Dr. Maeve Wallace was appointed as MAC’s new Associate Director. Maeve joined MAC as a postdoctoral fellow in 2015 and has since become faculty in the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Her work has helped grow the MAC staff and chart the course for our role as leaders in women’s health equity research.

Shermicia Calice was appointed as MAC’s Media and Communications Specialist. A native of New Orleans, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Loyola University New Orleans.

She will manage the strategy, execution, and content creation on all social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest) and produce other communication initiatives for MAC and the Violence Prevention Institute. She previously worked as the public relations consultant for the New Orleans Aviation Board on The New MSY campaign. There she wrote and produced internal and external communications and managed media relations for events surrounding the opening of the new $1 billion Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.

Congratulations Maeve and Shermicia!
