Biography

Dr. Chanell Haley received her Ph.D from the department of Health and Human Performance at Middle Tennessee State University. Her dissertation centered around barriers and facilitators which impact breastfeeding behaviors of Black mothers. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Biology from Alabama A&M University. 

Her public health interests include breastfeeding, social determinants of maternal and child health, and health equity. Her postdoc fellowship is under the supervision of Dr. Katherine Theall, Director if the Mary Amelia Center for Women’s Health Equity Research. In her role as a postdoc, Chanell will work on maternal and child health related research projects. Chanell’s long-term goal is to build a career as an applied researcher focusing on increasing health equity for underserved populations and reducing systemic barriers contributing to MCH disparities.
