MAC research featured in "Nature"
MAC’s Associate Director, Dr. Maeve Wallace, was featured in a recent publication by the journal Nature on gun violence in the US. Dr. Wallace’s project on state policies that restrict access to firearms by persons involved in domestic violence was one of the first pool of projects funded by federal money for gun violence research in more than two decades. In addition to highlighting her work, the feature provides an in-depth look at how underfunded gun violence research has been – despite the US having more firearm-related deaths than any other wealthy nation – and the reasons underlying recent Congressional and Executive actions to address the problem. Read the full feature here, and listen to Dr. Wallace speak on the accompanying podcast here.
