Healthy Neighborhood Project Staff & New Orleans East Residents Talk Neighborhood Beautification
Operation Pathways invited MAC’s Healthy Neighborhood Project (HNP) team to participate in a resource event for residents at the Walnut Square Apartments in New Orleans East.
HNP Program Coordinator Patricia Davis and volunteers Dalien Delafosse-Banks, Amanda Lee, and Tiffany Martinez spoke with residents about neighborhood conditions. The group agreed to return to hold focus groups, pending COVID-19 phases, and restrictions. Additionally, Operations Pathways’ regional manager asked to partner with HNP in future community-building events.
Operation Pathways, an affiliate of the NHP Foundation, works to preserve America’s affordable housing.
MAC's Healthy Neighborhoods Project is a cluster-randomized trial of neighborhood areas that aims to test the impact that cleaning up vacant land and abandoned houses may have on violence, including family violence, as well as health and well-being.
