BUILD Health Partners Host Drive-Thru Giveaway

The BUILD Health Challenge partners handed out infant feeding supplies during a drive-thru giveaway at Educare New Orleans on Friday, August 21, 2020. The group, who recognized the need to help families impacted by COVID-19, distributed 100 kits that included items for safe infant feeding, 103 package of diapers, 40 packs of wipes, masks from the City's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, and 100 pizzas donated by Domino’s. They also gave away 360 "Blessings in a Backpack" kits, which included non-perishable food items. 

The BUILD Health Challenge in New Orleans works is to improve health outcomes among the predominantly low-income families of color residing in or attending an early childcare center in the Columbia Parc neighborhood by increasing breastfeeding support across parent, provider, and clinic levels. Partners include Mary Amelia Center for Women’s Health Equity Research, Bayou District Foundation, LCMC Health, New Orleans Health Department, New Orleans Breastfeeding Center, and Educare New Orleans.
