Kira, a Program Manager for Early Childhood Research and Evaluation, received her Master of Public Administration, with a concentration in Community Development, from the University of New Orleans. Compelled by the vastly changed landscape post-Katrina, she found her niche by way of advocating for displaced and underserved New Orleanians in the Disaster Housing Assistance Program. Prior to MAC, Kira worked at the Louisiana Public Health Institute on the Primary Care Access and Stabilization Grant (PCASG) and the Collaborative to Improve Behavioral Healthcare Access (CIBHA). She has supported increased healthcare access in safety-net clinics and cultivated collaborative partnerships geared toward the overall revitalization and preservation of public welfare in New Orleans. A native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, Kira grew up in a big family immersed in local traditions. She enjoys exploring the latest happenings in and around the city, spending time with her family including two active children, reading books, gardening and being outdoors.
