MAC's staff is growing

MACs-staff-is-growing

It’s an exciting time at the Mary Amelia Women’s center. Our MAC staff is growing, welcoming new members to contribute to MAC’s accomplishments. The end of 2016 brought a new Operations Manager with the first quarter of 2017 ushering in three new staff members; a Program Manager for Early Childhood Research and Evaluation, an Early Childhood Research and Evaluation Senior Program Coordinator and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.

Jennifer Glick, MPH, Ph.D., a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, is also a welcome addition to MAC. Jennifer’s work highlights gender expression, chronic stressors, and health seeking behavior among sexual and gender minorities.

Brennetta Holmes, MBA our new Operations Manager, comes to MAC from Dillard University where she was instrumental in managing federal and private grant funding. She brings over 8 years of expertise in this area to the MAC family.

Early childhood research gets a boost from, Lynda Keating, MA. No stranger to MAC, Lynda previously worked as a Contract Assessor for Educare New Orleans, she recently took the reins as Educare’s Early Childhood Research and Evaluation Senior Program Coordinator responsible for managing the day to day assessment administration. Kira Wortmann, MPA, who also specializes in early childhood research, is our new Program Manager for Early Childhood Research and Evaluation. She will work primarily with the Kingsley House Early Childhood Education Program evaluating student development.

These new additions to the MAC family will improve MAC’s operational capabilities and expand research and training to address social determinants of women’s health.
